In 2011, all nations combined put 38.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide into our atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels, 54% higher than 1990 baseline. China, the world's largest CO2 polluter, put in 10 billion tons, USA 5.9 billion tons, India 2.5 billion tons, Russia 1.8 billion tons, and Japan 1.3 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere in 2011.
Are humans building their own tomb by putting billions of tons of carbon into our atmosphere? Can planet earth survive tons of CO2? Will there be enough fresh water and food resources for a more crowded world with 70 Million new people each year on the planet? Will we end up like planet Venus that suffered a runaway greenhouse effect? Its oceans boiled away and the planet's carbon ended up in its atmosphere as a suffocating blanket of carbon dioxide. The way to survive is for human behavior to change! Human extinction is forever. There is no Planet B. If we screw this up, we will only have ourselves to blame and the next generation asking, "What were you thinking?" "Did you not care?"
